Arvid Johannesen, is able to save energy by using Stamox. This is tested the following way:
On the spinning bicycle, we measure the watt produced with the pedals, and we measure the heart beat. When he exercises he typically produce 380 Watt on the pedals for 30 minutes.
When not using Stamox, his heart rate will then be 153 beats per minute.
When taking a shot Stamox 2 1/2 hours prior to the exercise or race, he will have a heart beat only 145 beats per minute.
This reflects the oxygen consumed, and the lactate produced.
In a competition he may use this saved energy (and avoidance of lactate excess), to increase the power on the pedals to 390 or 400 Watt, or save it to the end or the race for a explosive sprint.
