A repeatable protocol (3x3min VO2, 1x8min FTP, 3x1min Anaerobic) was made - and had the same athlete complete it 4 times over 2 weeks – twice with Stamox (10g, 2hrs pre-exercise) and twice without.
The results were consistent across both rounds
MORE POWER: Power output was higher in EVERY interval type when taking Stamox. - Avg. 8-min FTP Power: 333W ➔ 347W - Avg. 3-min VO2 Power: 386W ➔ 399W - Avg. 1-min Power: 497W ➔ 516W
BETTER EFFICIENCY: Despite the higher power, heart rate remained the same or even LOWER. This led to a +4.3% improvement in Efficiency Factor (power per heartbeat). Less metabolic cost for more speed.
IMPROVED RECOVERY: The biggest gains were often seen in the later, all-out 1-minute intervals, suggesting better between-effort recovery.
